Cold Forging is the most effective method to form complex shapes and offers unique thermal advantages. Forging is a cold process. Therefore, it requires high pressure to create a part. Consequently, it controls the grain structure and improves thermal performance.

CSI can forge fins almost perfectly straight, allowing for more fins per square inch. Also, we offer round and elliptical fin shapes. We manufacture parts made with Aluminum or copper. The forging process has few limitations to forming shapes and complex fin designs. In addition, this manufacturing process reduces the need for secondary operations. 

Cold Forged Heatsinks offer several significant advantages over their machined, die-cast, and extruded counterparts. The increased thermal performance coupled with the ability to expand to the surface area without increasing the size of the heatsink is a unique advantage. These factors are especially critical when your space is limited and /or weight reduction is critical.

• Thin walls of .020” and aspect ratios up to 35:1 are feasible
